Sikkim 4D/3N

East Sikkim. Oct 19th-22nd

Morning: Pick up from Siliguri Junction and start the scenic drive to Reshikhola (approximately 4 hours). Enjoy the changing landscape from plains to hills. Afternoon: Check into your riverside resort. The main fun here is the tranquility of the river. You can walk along the riverbed, dip your feet in the cool water, and just relax. It's the perfect way to unwind after the journey. Evening: Enjoy a bonfire (if available) and the sound of the river. You're staying right by the water, so it's a unique and fun experience.
Morning: After an early breakfast, begin the iconic journey. Rongli: The first major stop. This is where you'll get your permits processed. While the permit process is happening, you can explore the local market. It's not a grand shopping destination, but it's great for experiencing local life. On-Road Fun: The main fun of this day is the drive itself. Eco Park: A brief stop to stretch your legs and enjoy the greenery. Silk Route/Zig Zag Road: The star attraction! This winding road is a thrilling and breathtaking experience. Take plenty of photos from safe spots. Thambi View Point: This is a fantastic viewpoint to see the entire series of 99 hairpin bends of the Zig Zag Road. Tukla Valley: A high-altitude valley with stunning views. This is where the air starts to get very thin, so take it easy. Late Afternoon: Arrive at Nathang Valley. Check into your homestay. Nathang is often called the "Ladakh of the East" and is a fun place to experience extreme cold and high altitude.
Morning: The fun continues with high-altitude sightseeing. Elephant Lake (Kupup Lake): A beautiful, high-altitude lake shaped like an elephant. Enjoy the serene and mystical atmosphere. Old Baba Mandir: A sacred and fascinating stop. Note: Changu Lake and the New Baba Mandir are not on this route. They are on the way to Gangtok and would require a major, time-consuming detour and separate permits. You'll have to skip them to keep this itinerary feasible. Afternoon: Start the descent back towards Lingtham. The drive itself is a sight to behold as you lose altitude and the scenery changes from barren, cold mountain peaks to lush green valleys. Lingtam: Check into your homestay. Lingtham is at a much lower altitude, so you'll feel more comfortable here. You can take a short walk to see the local monastery or just relax by the river.
Morning: Enjoy the last bit of mountain air before you start your return journey. On-Road Fun: On your way back, you can ask your driver to stop at some places for photos. Rongli Market: If you missed anything on the way up, you can stop for some last-minute souvenirs or snacks. Afternoon: Arrive in Siliguri to catch your train or bus.
